Transcontinental with a little help from Daryl Hannah, cow patties and corn whiskey
Cable network Outdoor Life Network (OLN) is set to debut a 13-part television series featuring actress Daryl Hannah, a modified Chevrolet S-10, hemp oil, and an AstroTurf-covered 1982 Volkswagen Jetta that runs on bio diesel. Coolfuel: Roadtrip charts the journey of Australian Shaun Murphy (and his Jack Russell terrier, Sparky) as he traverses 30 states on 30 unique vehicles, running solely on alternative fuels.
Highlights include a bio diesel Hummer limousine, an Electra Cruiser electric Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and a BMW Z3 that runs on corn whiskey.
Coolfuel: Roadtrip premieres Tuesday on OLN at 8 pm Eastern.

Which one's Daryl?
Seriously, though, it's kind of a shame they're marginalizing the discussion of renewable fuel sources to appear to be the exclusive territory of Phish watchin, pot puffin, hippies.
The show is probably entertaining, but to get mainstream Americans out of their Hummer-filled dream world the discussion needs to be more scientific and convincing.
I want to see a show that tells me it's okay to be a Kansas conservative Christian who wears a suit and still care about alternative fuels.

I saw this on the local UPN (channel 50 in Detroit) and actually found it to be pretty good. It doesn't focus as much on environmentalism as it does on all the cool technologies people have come up with to fuel their vehicles. The visit a guy in middle America (Nebreaska I think) that has an ethanol powered plane, which isn't new, and they go into the fact that ethanol doesn't work real well when it's cold.
