Ahem,... that being said, this looks like an interesting vehicle if the buying public can see past the brand and the somewhat frumpy image. It does remind of the Mitsubishi Expo though.

I just wish that Suzuki would realize that niche vehicles are not the way to succeed here and that a more mainstream vehicle in the suddenly burning hot sub-compact market would be just the ticket. Suzuki's version will be built in Japan. It was the Fiat's version that was going to be built in Hungary.

This thing should do much better than the Aerio. Better looking package and has Swift suspension which ought to be better handling than the soft Aerio. On another note, does anyone else think the passenger and cargo volumes are miscalculated in this car? I mean they say the interior volume is 36.9 cu. ft. and that there is 9.5 cu. ft. behind the rear seats and 22.0 cu. ft. with the rear seats folded. That seems ridiculously small to me. The new 07 Elantra specs that were just posted show it having 98 cu. ft. of passenger room and 14 cu. ft. in the trunk. So is the SX4 three times smaller than an Elantra???? The mileage isnt bad at all, and Its looks are appealing.
Im usually a Subaru man when I want AWD, but the last several years the prices at Subaru have gone too high with the Impreza.
The power will also be very adequate for its weight for most people particularly if using the manual.
The Automatic will be slightly less sprightly obviously.
I can sense the "crossover" in the design.
Thats an area where the Mitsubishi LRV back in the early 90s was trying to tinker with but wasnt well recieved.
Definately got my vote for the SX4.

The trouble is... I also can see a lot of these rusted out in pastures along the highways of Maine and NH if Suzuki didn't take a little extra time on the rustproofing.
