Give me the freaking Swift already! That is what Suzuki really needs to do.

Ahem,... that being said, this looks like an interesting vehicle if the buying public can see past the brand and the somewhat frumpy image. It does remind of the Mitsubishi Expo though.

I just wish that Suzuki would realize that niche vehicles are not the way to succeed here and that a more mainstream vehicle in the suddenly burning hot sub-compact market would be just the ticket. The Swift has been widely acclaimed in Europe and Asia for its great handling and styling and I think would compete very well with the Fit, Versa, Yaris.

digi01

Comments on New York Auto Show: Suzuki launches SX-4 compact crossover

this is the FIAT panda correct?

Tim UF

Comments on New York Auto Show: Suzuki launches SX-4 compact crossover

Finally some news on the SX4!

Suzuki's version will be built in Japan. Are auto makers still stupid enough to not include these?

On another note, does anyone else think the passenger and cargo volumes are miscalculated in this car? I mean they say the interior volume is 36.9 cu. ft. and that there is 9.5 cu. ft. behind the rear seats and 22.0 cu. ft. with the rear seats folded. That seems ridiculously small to me. The new 07 Elantra specs that were just posted show it having 98 cu. ft. of passenger room and 14 cu. ft. in the trunk. So is the SX4 three times smaller than an Elantra???? Am I missing something?

wheresmycar

Comments on New York Auto Show: Suzuki launches SX-4 compact crossover

I like this car.
The standard AWD thats "switchable" sells me.
The mileage isnt bad at all, and Its looks are appealing.
Im usually a Subaru man when I want AWD, but the last several years the prices at Subaru have gone too high with the Impreza.
The power will also be very adequate for its weight for most people particularly if using the manual.
The Automatic will be slightly less sprightly obviously.
I can sense the "crossover" in the design.
Thats an area where the Mitsubishi LRV back in the early 90s was trying to tinker with but wasnt well recieved.
Definately got my vote for the SX4.

Jeff Gilleran

Comments on New York Auto Show: Suzuki launches SX-4 compact crossover

I can't wait to see one of these in person. It's a great package, compact size, good gas mileage, A.W.D. system, decent road clearance, reasonable price. I hope it does well since Pontiac is dropping the AWD Vibe model after next year. Not everyone wants/needs a huge vehicle with lousy gas mileage to have AWD so I'm looking forward to seeing it. Those side windows, they look like they might take some getting used to.

George

Comments on New York Auto Show: Suzuki launches SX-4 compact crossover

Meh...it's okay I guess, but I liked the Aerio wagon better. The styling on the SX4 is too egg-like for my tastes. I think it would be better if not for that boring bubble butt it has. The interior looks pretty cheap too...the Aerio's seemed to be a little more plush with better materials and styling.

Jay

Comments on New York Auto Show: Suzuki launches SX-4 compact crossover

Nissan wants the Versa's headlights back.

Paqza

Comments on New York Auto Show: Suzuki launches SX-4 compact crossover

damn I hope we'll get it up in Canada... this thing looks great

Kowell

Comments on New York Auto Show: Suzuki launches SX-4 compact crossover

Very cute and tight little design...much better than the ugly, plastic clad Fit box. Suzuki came up with a surprise that no one could have predicted, and this is a beautiful little econo box! How much more styling than the nasty Scion X twins, and the ugly Element and Fit.
