I've gotta' agree with Buck. A diesel, with its low end torque and easier water proofing seems like a "no brainer" for this vehicle. The other day I saw a blog that said VW was shipping their diesel engine to Belevedere, IL whare it was being placed into the new Caliber (I think) then the Caliber was being shipped off to Europe and was not going to be marketed in the U.S. Does the U.S. have "dieselphobia"?
