While overall sales may have been down for Ford Motor Co. compared to last year, the various brands under the Blue Oval have been gaining, especially the automaker’s new mid-sized sedan offerings, the Ford Fusion, the Mercury Milan and the Lincoln Zephyr. Sales for the three were up 28 percent compared to last month.

"The Fusion, Milan and Zephyr,” said Al Giombetti, vice president of Ford, Mercury and Lincoln marketing and sales, “are helping us to carve out a larger share of the market among mid-size car buyers. These cars are helping our dealers to retain our owners and capture new ones in one of the largest segments in the industry."

Ford’s F-Series pickups were up for a third straight month in a row while the Lincoln Mark LT sales were up for a second month. More important, though, was that Ford increased its market-share in the full-sized truck segment by three percent.
