Replacement headlight recall affects major automakers
Pro-A
Motors, a firm that manufactures automotive headlights has issued a recall for more than 60,000 replacement lamps. The
affected combination headlights do not have the amber side reflectors as required by the federal government.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that visibility on these non-compliant units is compromised,
which could contribute to the likelyhood of accidents. The company will notify owners of the recall beginning this month, and offer to buy back the units. Automakers whose vehicles could be affected include Acura/Honda, Ford, and Toyota. A full listing of manufacturers can be found at the link.

They must be truely invisable if they could sell 60,000 units before anyone noticed there was a problem!

Wait let me get this. An aftermarket product, apparently. The buyers desired a specific look, without side reflectors, around 60k people. The light isn't code. Aren't there many car owners who want a unique look in lights? Some neon, softened, colored, crystaline, Jesus stencilled, and smoked lighting effects that are not legal. Doesn't the liability belong to the car owner and the local enforcement? Anyways, congratulations to any company for stepping up to the plate and doing the expensive recall act.
Harley riders know the company, Adjure/Pro-A. It is very popular and a well know Harley site claims "Their lighting products are the best in the industry, not only do they look good but they perform second to none."!

Considering the number of non-spec aftermarket lights sold, I wonder if they were hit because they're a popular brand, or if they left out some key disclaimers. "not legal for road use" is your friend!
