Looks good. The C-pillar and back appears to copy the RAV-4 or is it just me?

physicaly it's a play on already populars design trends... but generally it'S really nice.... if they keep a good price around that of the actual one..it should be a good hit..... lets just hope they won,t jump up the price like it happened for the Rav4

looks much better then rav4 and in particular that stupid spare tire hanging on the back....so 1970.
What i like to see on new car is instead of more power, more cylinders, how about better gas mileage ....

Looks good, but do you really need shift paddles? Are there that many manu-fake-tic's (autoshifters) or soccer moms that are looking for F1 inspiration in SUV's? I'm not harping on the vehicle itself. IMO it's a usless option and I'm sure they'll use it to jack the price, should you want it.

then what will separate it from the Endeavor? Will they do like Toyota with the Rav4 and Highlander and fight themselves more than the competition?

Looks promising, wonder what the fuel economy is compared to the new RAV4's 23/28 with the 260 HP+ V6.

American truck? Huh, it's Japanese? (in respomse to #5). It's just another tall, narrow, derivitive design from Mitsubishi. The Galant is dumpy, the Endeavour is just plain ugly, and the Mirage seems to have wheel that are far too small for the body. It's a shame really because I owned Plymouth's version of the Expo LRV, which I thought had quite a nice look to it. It was a little ahead of it's time I guess but let me tell you something, it NEVER broke down. Reasonable mileage, tons of space, easy to drive. If Mitsubishi would just commit to a design language and take a few steps to being a bit more daring I truly think they'd be a threat to Nissan, Toyota, etc.
There, I said my piece and I'm sticking to it!

Droo, wait until you see the next Mitsubishi Lancer / Evo.
Take a gander at this:

My guess is, if Mitsu build this (obviously toned down a tad for Lancer, and "as is" for Evo) in Normal, Illinois and price it right, they might find a very willing market in the US.
Hopefully for the 2008 model year?
I personally think that since Mitsubishi now have so much "extra" plant capacity in Holland for their Colt, they should bring those on over, too.
How about a 5 door with 6 speed semi-automatic (euro-market tech) or optional CVT automatic (Japanese tech), as well as the hot turbo version (euro style) and the retractible hardtop-convertible (euro style)?

what??? the outlander came out before the rav 4 in japan... toyota copied mitsubishi... toyota was just able to bring it stateside faster because they figured since mitsubishi is beating them in sales in japan with the outlander... if we get a headstart in the u.s., we can beat them... toyota is fresh out of ideas.

Nice. Not distinctive-looking but not offensive. Mitsubishi should be able to undercut the new RAV4 and probably match Hyundai in pricing and sell a goodly number of these. Auto-enthusiasts, of course, will be saving pennies for the more sports-oriented Infiniti FX :)

I'm glad you brought that up, because that is exactly what has happened, sometimes you have to look beyond our shores for the truth.

I LIKE, I LIKE. Looks like Mitsu Is headed int he right direction. Good thing their signature nose beak is gone. SHIFT TABS ON THE STEERING WHEEL, thats awesome, I always wanted a vehicle with that. Looks better than the rav 4 and crv. Good job Mitsu!

Not a big fan of Mitsu. Their cars are just too plain but this is a good design. I hope it does well, Mitsu needs the customers. And as for the next Evo, I have a weird feeling they are going to butcher that concept...

Hey guys
I guess you already know what I'm gonna say. It's a really, really nice car. I drove the four-banger in Tokyo and it was a blast. Comfortable, firm ride; nice interior, EXTREMELY little body roll for a tall car. Kinda like a Honda CRX Si crossed with a Ford Bronco: utilitarian, fun in the twisties, but tough when you need it.
I am a little worried that the weight from the V6 will kill some of the handling, but I think the four would have felt short on power to most U.S. drivers.
I was also impressed by its "smart braking" (I forget the official name) feature (standard). It electronically distributes braking force to keep you in control during a panic stop.
The new Outlander has gotten rave reviews in Japan (where it was released last year) and it still outsells the RAV4 despite having a sliver of the market compared to Toyota's 51%.
Drive it.

I have the 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander and really like it, but I have a few concerns I am wondering if have been improved in the 2007.
Lots of sparking/static...scary at gas stations. Small dogs got under both front seats and on the driver's side came out during driving into the peddles! Windows have the non-rocker electric switches, which is good, but back windows have a gap on the sides of partially opened windows that could be hazardous to little necks. Zero padding on dash, doors, visors. Scariest is that driver can lock passenger doors, prohibiting passenger escape for any reason.
I do like my 2006 Outlander, but these are concerns that are legit for safety reasons.

6 speed automatic here, and still a 4 speed automatic in the base Eclipse? and the galant?
There needs to be some house cleaning at Mitsubishi

Well...Mitsubishi is introducing this nice car which I believe it's a 6 seater. If I have to compare it, I believe it looks more like a Saturn Vue than a RAV 4.
You can see more pictures in the Japanese site.
This SUV should kick serious butt.
