Attention car-obsessed Californians, Motor Trend Auto Shows announced that it is launching the Central California

Milwaukee, Charleston and Orlando, among others. The Fresno show will be brought to you by the Fresno/Clovis New
Car Dealers Association and will take place March 31 - April 2. If you're in the Central Valley, do let us know how it

With this many auto shows going on, at what point does an auto show become less of a showcase for products than a cash cow for the promoters who put on the shows? Clearly, there is some aspect of the finances of putting on a show that is causing the rapid growth in the number of car shows.
Let's start up our own auto show, charge the manufacturers for booth space, rent some convention center and profit.

I wonder how much green-house gas, oxides, sulfides and nitrides will be released by all the people attending this new show?

I plan on attending. Fresno has a long history with the legendary Blackie Gejeian's Autorama shows (46 years and running), and it's nice to see something like this in California's 5th largest city.

As Car hungry as the Golden State is, I'm surprised there's not a car show in every town, village, and hamlet.

A lot less "green-house gas, oxides, sulfides and nitrides" than if everyone drove the three hours to SF or LA and three hours back.

I'm sure Cali needs more cars and SUV/Trucks on their congested roads already. Isn't Caltrans backed up years on road repairs?

I live about half an hour from Fresno, and I do think it's a great event to happen. However, the closest auto show near me will be my high-school's; in which all students can display their automobiles. Even my Volvo qualifies. Hahaha...

Does anyone know if the young woman named April is still traveling with the autoshow?
