Land Rover intros HST at Goodwood Festival

Dubbed the
closest thing to the company’s first ever concept, the
Range Stormer, that money can buy, the
HST is a blinged out version of Land Rover’s Range Rover Sport that was debuted recently during the press day of
the Goodwood Festival. The HST features identical mechanicals as the S/C Range Rover Sport but sports an electric
sunroof, electronic locking rear differential and privacy glass. The exterior gets a treatment that West Coast Customs
would be proud of, which includes flush fitting front and rear bumpers and a larger grille. The lower cladding all
around is body-colored and there’s a new tail spoiler and rectangular exhaust pipes out back. The
“Stormer” alloy wheels are 20 inches large and chromed for good measure. Performance should be identical to
the supercharged Range Rover Sport, though its price will grow to £63,000 ($109,790 US).

Let's see them throw that thing up the rally stage!

I don't know about you, but I'd rather have this over an Escalade. If I'm going to get a blinged SUV I might as well get one that looks good both inside and out.

#2 - about the whole escalade thing, hell yeah I'd rather have this than an escalade. I'd also rather have a new BMW M3 than my Mazda Protege5. Point is, an Escalade is 55k and this is twice that.
Very nice though, if I had a ton of money and nothing to spend it on I would definitely get it.

Gets my vote. Hope the perfomance is good.
Would love them to do something like the McLaren BMW X5 Le Mans

For $100k you finally get painted side mirrors! Correction--just the top of the mirror. Let's not get carried away, if you paint the bottom it will no longer be off-roadable.
Seriously, how can the Sport get away with so much nasty unpainted plastic when cheaper Aztek and Element were laughed into painting it?

i don't get it. 30k for chrome wheels (that, IIRC were already available on the s/c just not in chrome), body kit & spoiler, tinted windows, locking rear diff (again, available as an option), sunroof (wasn't this already standared on the s/c?), and special wood trim?

If you want a range rover sport blinged up a little, check out the Arden Range Rover AR05 here:

I much prefer the look of the Arden though I don't know the price.

C, lots of people like black mirrors, b/c you can't see them from the side against the black windows.

Blinged is the right word. How vulgar. I like the Range Stormer - but this incarnation is EastEnder dreck.
