BMW-motivated quad sure to scare riders, financial planners
Rinspeed's Frank Rinderknecht evidently isn't the only batty Swiss in the belfry. Check out Gruter Gut's latest creation, the GG Quad.
Rocking the road on 16" alloys, the BMW 1100cc-powered hybrid puts 90 ponies to the ground via a six-speed gearbox. Top end for the crazy quad is about 106 mph-- a total that doesn't sound all that impressive, but is likely scary enough in real-life.
Price? Well, the design isn't the only 'insane' thing about the GG Quad. The $43,000 asking price is barking mad as well.
Check out the full details at GG's official site here.

106? That's weak. But I'd still love to try one of these out. :D

Didn't someone turn a Subaru Impreza WRX STi into a quad bike for an autoshow awhile back. I think it still had the same 300bhp and suspenion as the car. Now that is scarey!!!

Hmmm. how can I spend my 43k this quarter?
A quasi-ATV with a BMW motor, or a well equipped sport-compact coupe with a BMW motor. Decisions, decisions...

But with a large BMW, you can't drive right through the forests

As the old saying goes, "Two wheels good, four wheels bad."
Well, okay, I happen to love cars too. But for sheer, all-out, unabashed fun, you just can't beat a bike. Which compels me to ask: why ruin a perfectly good bike by bolting on two more wheels?

Meh. My motorcycle goes faster than that quad and cost me just over $5k. And I'll bet it's more fun to ride.
