We’re suckers for a
photogenic piece of machinery and cars make the perfect subject matter for an artist’s lens. Jonathan Kendall, a
self-proclaimed artist, author, racer and photographer, has just started a blog titled the Art of the Automobile that
features interviews with well known automotive photographers, news on upcoming automotive art exhibitions and even
automotive quotes from the esoteric elite like Salvador Dali who said, “Until the invention of machines there had
never been perfect things, and man had never seen anything so beautiful or poetic as a nickel-plated engine." So
true, Sal. So true.

Hey Jeff and all the folks at AutoBlog...glad you liked the blog...i have a lot more stuff to come, pictures from DT Auto Show/Pebble Beach/Cavallino, and interviews in the works. AND wuddaya mean "a self-proclaimed artist, author, racer and photographer." I have my work opening in Charlotte art gallery Green Rice on April 7th (artist), i co-authored the Book 'Why 2K is OK' (really, look on amazon...still for sale too), i won the SCCA Showroom B Regional championship in the 1980's (big deal!), and took these cool pictures too (SpeedTV's senior editot Joe Tripp said "...the images are so compelling, I'm running this as the top automotive story today..." Keep up the good work on AutoBlog, you'll always have your link on my site (always have!) Jonathan

I've know Jon for over 20 years. Witty, urbane, sardonic yes. But, always an eye towards the sublime. Can find beauty, shape and form in the most unusual or common place objects. Like the wide eyes of a childs first discoveries captured in time on film.

I can't wait until April 7th when Jonathan introduces his photography to the Charlotte area. In my opinion, Jonathan has captured some great art through his photography of automobiles. Jonathan is a very unique person and I believe it shows through his work.
