Celebrity Watch: Paris Hilton pimpin' a brand new SLR
Paris Hilton apparently awoke one morning and realized to her haute couture horror that the silver Bentley
Continental GT she’s been rockin' just doesn't go with her Spring wardrobe. What’s a hotel heiress to do?
Go shopping -- and shopping she did, picking up a handsome black Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren. Really, it’s the
perfect vehicle for the L.A. traffic jam scene.Local L.A. law enforcement might consider deeming Hilton’s new chariot a lethal weapon and impound it on sight, especially considering that her boyfriend, Stavros Niarchos, crashed her previous 552-hp Bentley into a truck while trying to avoid the paparazzi. We shudder to think what Ms. Hilton could destroy with 617 hp on tap beneath her stilettos.

If we are lucky she will kill herself in this thing or get shot during a carjacking...

wasn't that enzo racing a Benz before it crashed, I think we might have our other drag racing vehicle. Paris Hilton thanks for participating in the destruction of an Enzo..... keep up the good work!!!!!

Wasting a car like this makes Jesus angry!....and you won't like Jesus when he's angry.

Women like Paris Hilton do not belong behind the wheel of a fast car like the MBZ SLR McLaren!!!

There should be a 'Qualification' requirement for any sports car/sedan with more than 270HP. I doubt she can drive a Corolla in a straight line let alone a supercar like the SLR.

She doesn't deserve that car.
I do, however.

What a waste.
Definately proves the adage that life is unfair.

Funny how nobody cared about the SLR here. http://www.autoblog.com/2006/03/09/mercedes-benz-to-build-slr-roadster-or-other-derivations/
Kinda makes you wonder just how "qualified" most SLR owners are. Surely MB offers a training course like you can get with a new M3...

Actually, it's people like her that keep cars like this in production. The genre would disappear if all that purchased them were auto enthusiasts who just happened to be incredibly wealthy.

I knew the Bentley GT was too "common" the second I saw one coming out of the Kroger parking lot in Peoria, Illinois. And nevermind the family fortune; Paris could afford an SLR from her PR work alone. So this upgrade doesn't surprise me in the slightest!

Must be a slow day here at Autoblog if such a nothing-story like this actually makes news...

Its not the easiest car to get in and out of (Its harder than a Murcielago, but easier than a Carrera GT, but im 6'1" and male), why would a frail little thing like her want that kind of struggle?
Her and that guy Simon from American Idol are "notable" owners. I now fully understand why Gordon Murray saw fit to leave McLaren Cars after the completion of it.

What's the difference between Paris Hilton and an SLR McLaren?
There's only room for two in the SLR.

The image for this car is destroyed! Who would want to buy the same car as her Top Gear should move this car to "Seriously Uncool" on the cool wall!

Quoting "There should be a 'Qualification' requirement for any sports car/sedan with more than 270HP. I doubt she can drive a Corolla in a straight line let alone a supercar like the SLR."
So are you doubting her for being able to drive a "Hachi-Roku" (AE86)- cult 80's Corolla, either in a straightline or sideway. I don't like them simply because they betray the SLR name badly (SLR means Sports Licht Rennen - Sport Light Racing, a name given to the 50's racer made famous by Stiring Moss) being too shoved up with pointless gizmos just to please vain owners who don't like to rough it up in a real sports car.
