Spy Shots: next gen Audi TT
Audi was being
so coy about its new TT when it launched a minisite devoted to the coupe that
teased us with brief glimpses of the car’s design. So much for being coy. The next TT from Audi has been caught
in the wild with little camo to clutter our view of the gorgeous coupe. The front end of the new TT mixes Audi’s new corporate face for production models with the fanciful expression of the Shooting Brake Concept that appeared last year at the Tokyo Motor Show. The squinty headlights and gaping grille are there, as are headlights that look lifted from a Bentley Continental GT.
The real TT will stand up on April 6th when it’s officially unveiled by Audi.

How in the world do the new TT's headlights (which are masked in these pictures but are obviously one piece units with sharp corners) anything like the Continental GT's dual-round headlights?

The original still stands out as such a clean design that I'm afraid I can't really get excited about this.

#2, it's the 2006 TT model that can't be sold because of emissions.

I think it should read "...as are TAIL lights that look lifted from a Bentley Continental GT." They're pretty similar (in the real photos).

Those shots from Germancarblog are different in style from both the teaser from the official site and from the spy shots--it's probably not representative what the styling will be like.
The rearview mirrors are different, as are the placings of the sidemarkers, and outline of the front headlight.

I'm with #3 - I love the original TT so much that I'm sad to see it go. Thankfully, the new TT is looking like a worthy successor. The reported hatchback model intrigues me, but I'm most curious about the VW "New Scirocco" that would be based on it, because that I might actually be able to afford.

Now those last pictures really look good. But the rear on the camouflaged model really looks ugly.
