Harley-Davidson museum planned
Motorcycle company Harley-Davidson has announced
plans to build a museum in its hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Construction is to commence some time this spring. According to director Stacey Watson, displays planned include the 1903 Harley-Davidson’s serial number 1 cycle and Elvis Presley’s 1956 Harley-Davidson KH. Posters, clothing and other colorful items from the company’s collection will also be featured. No word if a suitably clothed Ford F-Series will make the scene.
The museum is expected to open in 2008.

Minor correction: The Milwaukee paper is the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal. Apparently the Post-Gazette you are refering to is a service of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Harley announced that they would open a museum several years back. However, it has been delayed multiple times because of site selection issues, estimated construction overruns, and local political issues. Its nice to see they are finally going ahead with something though.

Yea.... great idea. They're putting it down by the post office, industrial ports and grain storage. Brilliant. Not to mention they made the city shell out tax-payer $$$ to move a city utility site. All because they didn't want to pay to be really close to downtown entertainment venues. Quite a few businesses and city planners planned on Harley moving on the original site only to get ****ed over. Whatever. It's a great idea, but it's being poorly executed.
