Reuters UK is reporting that Hyundai and Kia have found themselves thrust under the microscope of Korea's Fair Trade Commission after allegedy strong-arming suppliers into lowering their prices. The two companies are facing some challenges due to the increasing value of the won, making it difficult for Hyundai and Kia to stay competitive overseas. Cutting costs, particularly those subject to unfavorable currency conversions, is key to both brands, as they rev up plans to increase its sales abroad.

Hyundai and Kia officials declined comment.
