First pics: Bond's DBS
Casino Royale may be several months away from its premiere, but the sleuths at MI6 have this first look at the Aston Martin DBS Bond will be cruising in. Hot on the heels of the design sketch released last month, the DBS appears to be a suped-up version of the Vanquish. MI6 says the gadgets, all inside the car, will be a cut above the regular machine guns and rocket launchers. Daniel Craig, who will play Bond in the film, has already paid a visit to Aston Martin headquarters for a test drive.

Personally I think it looks like a suped up DB9 or V8 Vantage.

could this be the next vanquish? The db9 has gotten close to the vanquish's performance so the vanquish definately needs a boost in performance. Personally its too brash looking to be a bond car. I'd rather have seen the amv8 or db9 being the bond car. However, with daniel craig as bond and eva green as vesper lynd i don't have much hope for the movie being any good.

I agree it looks like a V8 Vantage with a body kit.

I think my favorite bit from the last movie was where Q is like "Oh and by the way, the car turns INVISIBLE," and then Pierce Brosnan gets this look on his face that's just "Oh Yes, INVISIBLE CAR!"
So yeah, the more silly nonsense they can come up with for the next Bondmobile, the better. Hey maybe someone will finally get around to getting a Flux Capacitor up in that action.

It still doesn't look as good as Project Vantage did. Something about that concept just never got translated to the production cars, and I'm not quite sure what it is.

Dan,
Don't hold your breath. This Bond movie is going to be MUCH more down-to-earth than the last several. In fact, there is no Q in this one. I understand it will be more like The Bourne Identity than the recent 007 flicks.

It is with no doubt a modified version of the DB9......and not the vanquish, you can tell by the lights, front grill, side air intake and so on - I persornally don't really like, the DB9 itself is fine, they should'nt modify it.

Kasper is right, the "sketch" is a photoshopped version of this widely distributed DB9 press photo:

Not just are the lights, hood, and windows the same, but the actual reflections are identical.

What do you know about the movie, Esquire?

this has got to be a photoshopped fake. i just don't see aston producing something with a ridiculous lower bodykit like that, nor does this picture look like the sketch that was released with the original press release.

I agree that the lower bodykit doesn't look typical of Aston Martin, but it does look like the Corgi toy car that was leaked. I suspect photoshop too.

I've seen the picture. It mostly likely a V8 powered & but I don't if it a 4 seater or 2 seater like V8 Vantage. But I can't wait to see Daniel Craig drive this Aston Martin in the movie.
