Your country’s car industry hasn’t truly arrived yet until it’s developed some healthy engineering and marketing support from a good ol' competitive motorsports. China’s car industry is booming and interest in motorsports from its auto manufacturers is likewise growing.

Changan Ford, the Chinese automaker created when Ford Motor Company teamed up with native Changan Automotive in order to sell Blue Oval wares in the country, has announced the formation of Changan Ford Racing and the entry of the Ford Focus in the 2000cc race series of the 2006 China Circuit Championship. The first race will be held at the Shanghai International Circuit on March 10th, with an additional two races to be run at Beijing’s Goldenport Circuit and the Zhuhai International Circuit later this year. Changan Ford will field two cars in the series driven by Ma Hanhua and Li Wanqi.
