Kia to premiere "cee'd" concept in Geneva
Kia Motors will exhibit this design experiment at the Geneva Motor Show to spotlight its upcoming European C-segment model, which goes into production late this year at Kia's first European assembly plant in Slovakia.
The cee'd name (say "seed") is meant to evoke both the C-segment car on which it is based, and the hope that the C-car is the "seed" for future sales growth in Europe. The all-European car was designed at Kia's European Design Center.
The cee'd has the strong, flared wheel arches that are the small car design flavor of the month, and what seems to be an unusually long (by today's standards) front overhang. Expect some of the concept's design cues to show up in future Kia models, but the cee'd is not intended for production.
