Wasn't the shifter in some wonky location on the last model (or, rather, on the current model)? Still has that wavy beltline, which makes the whole piece look a bit . . . gasp! . . . I'm 63 and thought I would NEVER own a minivan. But with two dogs and a home in the mountains of AZ, I'm eating my own words.

And to all the negative naysayers, it's a great vehicle. Of course, I've never been a "me too" car buyer so I like its different looks (its French influence is a good thing). Many of these bloggers do not have any idea of French design. For example, one of the greatest industrial/automotive designers of all time, Raymond Lowey was French. If you do not have any idea of his designs, you are a design idiot. The goundbreaking 1947 Studebakers, 1953 Studebakers and 1963 Studebaker Avanti were all his work. Of course, most Americans at the time thought Ford, GM and Chrysler products were the cat's meow even though they looked archaic next to the Studebakers of their era. Those Studebaker designs are all timeless classics. In addition to cars, Lowey designed and refined MANY well known products over the years. So much for the idiot bloggers' put-downs of French design.

Back to the Quest. It's the only minivan on the market for a car guy.

Aside from a couple of quality issues, I love it, it's great. They look wild. I wish I could post a picture of the model I am thinking of. It makes the Quest look very conservative. People say they want something different, but when a company shows something different, they pan it.

All the buzz at Detroit was about two rehashed muscle cars. A truly brilliant design, the Mazda Kibura, was relegated to the middle of the pack - again because supposed "car fans" like some of the geniuses on this board say they want creativity, then take potshots at it when it's offered.
