Chicago Auto Show: Nissan shows Titan "Onyx" concept truck

Not a great deal changed from the standard version, the Onyx concept truck features 20-inch wheels, a custom front fascia, "piano black" interior trim, and satin gauge trim. Naturally, Autoblog's resident truck fan, Eric, couldn't resist.
More after the jump.

With that chin spoiler, it looks a bit like one of the many dropped Nissan "hardbody" pickups from the early '90s that used to tootle around my 'hood. Generally, though, it looks like Bill Cowher--big chin, not pretty.

Still not a pretty face.

This is ugly and it should not be produced. Nice face job. Is Nissan trying to take over the title of facia engineering from GM? I guess that would make sense since Nissan will have to hire 20% of their staff again and most will be from the Detroit area moving down south for the warmth and food as they are losing their jobs up here.

Ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly! What were they thinking? On second thought, it's obvious that they weren't!

I hope the overhaul that the Titan gets in a few years doesn't resemble this. The front end was one of the things that drew me to check out the Titan in the first place. It's different than the others. I like that. This would be a step backwards.

That's disgusting! They could have put MY Titan up there and it would have looked better. I have 22" wheels and not that stupid looking chin spoiler.

That whole front bumper/spoiler combo really looks ugly. I really wonder who's gonna pay extra for this.

Dislike the front end.

That spoiler/front bumper just kills the lines of the rest of the truck. It looks like a a big industrial vacuum cleaner. Not a step up for sure, Nissan.

Nissan needs to do some 'freshening' up now that Toyota is going to have some serious competition in the full size truck market.

I agree fugly! Where is the concept?? No mind blowing stuff going on here. Again as said before, I might suggest Titantalk.com for new suggestions on new concepts for the future line of Titan's. Nissan needs to stick to what they know best, our current Titans are the product of great Marketing & Research to beat all the rest, "Key to sucess" for Titans, listen to the folks driving them!

I have to agree that I don't want to see the front end of the Next Nissan Titan to follow this design treatment. It does look like an ugly chin.
