Toyota's Urban Cruiser announced ahead of Geneva

Having pushed its new RAV4 way up market with an optional third-row seat and available 269-hp V6, it appears Toyota is testing the design waters for a smaller softroader in Europe that could take the RAV4’s old entry level spot. The Urban Cruiser (as opposed to Land Cruiser) certainly looks capable of traversing deep city potholes with aplomb and maintaining traction in even the harshest of drizzles.
The only other thing we can tell you about this Geneva-bound concept is what Toyota has told us: “The Urban Cruiser also features a fresh interior style inspired by trendy furniture.” We’ll have to wait until we’re at the Geneva show in person to snap a few interior pics

Apparently the hood lines sweeping forward to a Toyota emblem, hanging buck-tooth-like over the front bumper, is the new Toyota identifier? The 2007 Camry has the same thing.

Sorry, but the Rush (http://toyota.jp/rush) is heir apparent to the RAV4's 'entry level' SUV spot. It looks like a 2nd Generation RAV4 that was left in the dryer a bit too long.

This product is not only inevitable but well timed. Now that the RAV4 has gone all V6 on us, a new spot has opened at the bottom.
It looks like a Japanese take on the latest Ford design cues, such as the side intakes on the grill and the gently bulbous fenders. The window form is current Toyota but that nose is just beaky. maybe the public will like it?

VERY MUCH ugly. Seems that's the common trend among Japanese car makers these days, has anyone else noticed this? The smaller and more fuel efficient it is, the more hideous and puke-inducing they feel it has to be... WHY?

Come on guys, its a concept. Remember the Ford SynUS? The Chrysler Akino? Companies always make crazy, off the wall products for car shows. By the time it makes it to production, I doubt it will look much different than the current 2 door RAV4.

Looks like an horrible mix of a Murano and a Beetle.
While it may be a concept, it shows the direction they're taking with his model. I think they need a detour.

A beautiful Toyota, and a reliable GM vehicle...that's two mythological creatures for the price of one!
The Supra was beautiful. The MR2 (not the Spyder) was beautiful. The Lexus SC400 was beautiful. That's it for Toyota. Wake me up when they build a car I want to buy.
