The Chrysler Group has the whole RWD thing down to a tee, so the automotive community is very interested in whether or not it can duplicate its success further up the frame. Enter these spy shots of a heavily camo’d 2007 Chrysler Sebring, which shows the new sedan wearing what looks like a Crossfire-esque front end complete with a ribbed hood.
Inside Line is reporting that the Sebring Coupe will be dropped when the new version begins production this fall. Hertz, Avis and Enterprise will all be happy to know that the Sebring convertible is returning, though.

The new car will also be built on a platform that shares parts with some Mitsubishi vehicles including the Lancer (yay!) and the Outlander (huh?). The base engine will be the “World Engine” four-cylinder that’s also going in the Jeep Compass and Dodge Caliber.

Will the new Sebring be the 300C of FWD sedans? Probably not, but it won’t have to try too hard to eclipse the achievements of the outgoing model.
