Formula 1: MF1 Racing launch first Russian F1 car
The ex-Jordan team MF1 Racing launched their first new car, the M16, February 3. Powered by a Toyota V8, the M16 sports the team's new grey, red and white colors and an unusually large number (by F1 standards) of sponsor brands.
Team owner Midland Group will be the first entrant in the history of Formula 1 to run with a Russian racing licence, and long-term the team plans to get a Russian driver into F1.
Last year, the team ran year-old Jordans, so the M16 will be a great step forward - effectively a two-year jump in technology and design. The team will get a chance to see how the new car stacks up against its competitors at the group test at Jerez next week. More pics after the jump.
