It has been confirmed that Audi’s new Allroad, a semi-offroad wagon derived from the A6, will be unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March. These spy shots from GermanCarBlog via WorldCarFans don’t leave much to the imagination and show exactly how much inspiration for the new Allroad was provided by the A6 Allroad Quattro Concept that was shown at the Detroit auto show last year.

Is it just me or does the new Allroad look a lot less distinctive (compared to a standard A6 Avant) than the old one did?

No - I think the 4 rings on the grill are bigger!

I have had an allroqad (with the 4.2 V8 and tiptronic) for over a year, and I LOVE IT, it goes like a train, makes a great V8 sound, does everything it's supposed to do and (mine has the body colour painted wheel arch extensions and bumpers) it looks the business. It's not so great on the bends, admitedly, but then that's not what it's for and anyway I have a Porsche 993 Turbo as well, so I get those kicks in the Porker. The new allroad, if it doesn't come with the option for painted wheel arch extensions etc., will 4 sure 4 sure look less distinctive than the old, except that arguably it has a prettier grill and bottom. But if you fancy the big engined allroad, and don't mind that it guzzles a bit of juice, then I'd say "Go For It". It's a very good machine.
