Pony Poll Winner!
What a come from behind victory for the Dodge Challenger in our Pony Poll. Throughout the entire day Wednesday the Camaro Concept was out in front, and at some point early Thursday morning the Challenger made a move to pass and never looked back.
Still, the results were incredibly close, especially consider 9,988 people voted! The official count gives the Chevy Camaro Concept 4,863 votes versus the Dodge Challenger Concept’s 5,125 votes. Though the Challenger garnered 51% of the vote, it clearly wasn’t enough for a muscle car mandate, which means there’s still a lot of love out there for the Camaro, as well.

this is for #8 and anyone else like him. man I don't know what your talking about we all know that real muscle comes from chevy and thats how it always will be. the pony car war never ended with the mustang winning. the camaro beat all and they were realiable. and the new mustang its ok looking but its gettin old and it doesnt have power at all, there not fast.and im sick of mustangs and I always see girls and there mothers riding around in the little V6 mustangs. As far as im conserned they shouldnt even be in this pony car war there not even muscle cars any more. now I like this new challenger its a nice car ill give dodge that. but again camaro rules all and another thing all you ford guys out there all your coming up with against the camaro is that its coming out later then the challenger, thats nothing, is that all you can come up with. the camaro has way more power then the mustang and they will have more options for the engine they will also have better gas mileage because of the new cylinder technology on the highway, the new hemi's are suppose to have that for there new engines also so I think that camaro wins but the challenger comes close behind but they both beat the mustang by far and one more thing learn how to spell buddy lol.

What about another poll including the current Mustang...which would you buy?

I doubt that this is a "true" poll, think about it: Mopar is and always was a lesser known and lesser followed brand (thats one of the reasons why I love Mopar). Typically, among muscle car fans its 20% Mopar, 40% Ford and 40% Chevrolet... and most followers usually vote for "their" brand, this means that if this poll were true, there should be about 2:1 in favor of Chevy... and that doesnt mean its better, just that there is more people voting for it...

I think what happened is that all the Ford fans got involved and voted "anti-chevy"... which was in their eyes Challanger...

Shout out to everyone over on ChallengerTalk that helped the Challenger to victory!
Now Dodge just needs to hurry up with this car so I can get my hands on one!
Anyway, check out Challenger Talk for information on the Challenger concept!

I'm more of a GM fan than anything.
I voted on pure esthetics. The Camaro looks like a cartoon and the Challenger looks awesome. Simple as that.
If the Mustang were in the mix, I'd still vote for the Challenger. If there is one thing that the Chrysler guys can do right, is design a good looking car. Now if they can only make it measure up in quality.

If all the Mustang people voted anti-Chevy the Camaro would have gotten smoked! Face it Chevy boys, the Challenger is a better looking car and will see production well before the Camaro. By the time the Camaro ever makes it it will look little like the concept because the door sills are too low and federal crash ratings require a minimum door height of around 38 inches. I have seen the Camaro in person during industry preveiw and those sills are not "legal". Meanwhile the Challengers" are so it will look very similar in proportion and shape. I can't wait to see all three (Mustang, Challenger, Camaro) go head to head in a few years. Hopefully for GM and Dodge they can make these cars work because we know hwo the last Pony Car wars ended.

Actually, given the sample size of this survey, there is no statistical difference in the results, indicating a tie. The Dodge wins by pure number of votes, but not by enough of a margin to truly declare a winner in terms that would matter to either manufacturer. Just keeping it real. Personally, I would like both manufacturers to produce the models and commence a muscle car revolution.

Not surprising since it's cool to hate GM now and anything remotely affiliated with GM.. Which I will never understand. How can someone hate a company for making poor business decisions. I don't see anyone hating Sony for not making a competitive MP3 to compete with the iPod. I don't see anyone hating VW for building a $70,000 car while still having poor build quality. Can someone really explain why it's cool to hate GM? Do you do it to fit in or something?

@ notsurprising:
don't be a paranoid, no one hates GM, it just shows that all in all people that voted for this poll, liked the Challenger a little better.
I voted for the Challenger as well, because it looks better, it's already looking like she is ready for production, while the Camaro so far it's only an exercise in style and a bit too cartoonish for me.
Now I hope DCX will produce the Challenger (and that GM will do the same for the Camaro, hopefully retaining the core looks of this car, just a bit more on the realistic side though...) as I really want to buy one asap.

While, it is truly unscientific, it was still a fun exercise. I did notice that the poll didn't seem to block you from voting more than once. It probably didn't help that challenger talk was sending people over to vote. I wonder if GMInsideNews had done the the same thing, what would have happened to the numbers.
In any case, I think they are both good looking vehicles. I lean towards the Camaro side, just slightly. I can't wait to see how the production vehicles differ from their concepts.
I think it would be a even better exercise to add the new Mustang into the mix. Come on Autoblog. Just for grins.

Please don't refer to cars as "she." It sounds ridiculous. Boats are OK, but cars? No.

Reality check:
GM doesn't have the money to develop a new camaro. At the current burn rate they'll be out of cash in 18 months. They don't have a RWD platform to build this car and the sales simply aren't there to justify it. Chrysler can build their Challenger because they already have a line of successful RWD sedans to base it off of. The Camaro prototype is dead. It will never be built. Get used to it.

The poll did block you from doing it twice. I tried it multiple times and I got the "You already voted in this poll once already!!" caption.
Go Challenger! Go Mopar!

The Camaro looks like an exact duplicate of the Cadillac XLR. The pointy nose does not appear to look right.

Even as a diehard Bowtie fan, I think the Challanger has my vote. I own a 69 Camaro and I think Chevy should have stayed with a more Retro look as with the Mustang. I would love to park a newer version next to the Grandpa in the garage.

If you see them in person, The Challenger would have no chance; it is nearly 200 inches long.
