Ford Edge: At the show info and pics

Autoblogger John attended a presentation where Mark Fields, Executive Vice President, Ford Motor Company; President, The Americas, gave off the vibe that the Edge is VERY important to Ford's future, and that the company has a lot of confidence in the vehicle. He again emphasized that with the crossover utility market (CUV) is growing, Ford may have positioned itself perfectly with the Edge right as the market heats up.
Mr. Fields also said the plant at which both the Ford Edge and Lincoln version would be built at Ford’s Oakville Assembly Complex in Ontario, Canada which was being converted by to be a “completely flexible manufacturing" plant (per se).

Surely a neat looker. Lets hope it does well for Ford.

Strange, this car reminds me of the Land Rover Range Stormer Concept. Don't know why and it's not the colour!!

Huh. And meanwhile I get the same feeling looking at the Edge that I got looking at the first gen Explorer years ago.
If my gut is right, maybe this really is their next great mainstream hit.
