Trust the demands of the american market to wreck a perfectly good award-winning car... Goodbye perky 70hp 999cc-engine (a turbo variant of which made for a hot performer) and phenomenal fuel efficiency, sporty original chassis and space-pod styling... hello larger, stodgy chassis, space pod being bent out of shape (and what the heck is that extra box doing lumped on the back of the red one?!), and over specced, far less efficient big-car engine.
Why bother keeping the same name, for pete's sake? It's not the same car any more!
