Mercedes-Benz announced that it will be recalling over 60,000 C-class sedans from the past two model years to
address “irregularities” with the driver’s side air bag. The problem was discovered during federal
compliance testing, and is said to have only caused a problem in that particular laboratory situation, and does not
affect real-world crashworthiness (note that I have not personally verified this claim). The air bag module will be
replaced to correct the issue.
