Andretti-Wheldon 250

Indy Racing League superteam Andretti Green Racing, former home of 2005 IRL champion Dan Wheldon, has signed Marco Andretti, son of team principal Michael to replace Wheldon for the 2006 season. But wait, there's more! It seems that Michael will come out of retirement to join the team for a one-off Indy 500. (That's Dan, Marco and Michael, going from left to right in the picture)

Father and son will race alongside Dario Franchitti, Bryan Herta and Tony Kanaan.

The 18 year-old junior Andretti, while showing talent in karts and junior open-wheel series, is pretty inexperienced by professional standards. Mario Andretti had hoped grandson Marco would get that needed experience in Formula Atlantic next year, but it seems Michael had other ideas.
