In a move that showed signs of life still remain at Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA), the company announced that Hiroshi Harunari will be appointed president and CEO effective January 1st, 2006. Harunari's previous stint was as Managing Director of Overseas Operations for Mitsubishi Motors Corporation since April 2005 and he joins current co-president and co-CEO Rich Gilligan. Together the two will spearhead a "product-led recovery strategy" (how many times have we heard that before in the auto industry?) that will include four new models over the next 20 months in addition to the company's current new models like the Eclipse coupe.
Good luck Mr. Harunari, and can you get someone on bringing over the EVO wagon, please? Thanks.
