It hasn't been very long since Ford announced it would kill off the huge Excursion, but that hasn't stopped it from putting another SUV into the works. Ford Motor Company, which recently has been rolling out a campaign touting its efforts to be on the forefront of developing green technology, will produce the vehicle on a stretched Expedition platform expected to be built in Ford's Wayne, Michigan plant next summer.
While many critics cry hypocrisy, one has to note that there is still a market for SUVs that size — and if Ford doesn't stick around to play, GM will run away with all the sales. As long as Ford doesn't put its turnaround plans squarely on the big vehicle's shoulders, there shouldn't be a problem.
