They're truly an industrial force, they can't be ignored for much longer. I'm curious to see what they turn out.

Geely is a shameless automaker, as I remember from a posting way-back-when of their exact ripoff of a Mercedes C-Class.

Maybe Malcom Bricklin will be involved. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Sorry, but the Germans, English, Italian and Japanese are the real car makers. The Koreans, French, Austrailans, Russian and Chinese are crap.

No, Bricklin is associated with Chery, not Geely. This is different, so don't be surprised if Geely imports cars to the US eventually on thier own (in competition with Bricklen/Chery/Visionary Vehicles).

Geely is a wonderful and inspired car company.
By the picture, you can tell that the interior rivals or surpasses Mercedes and Jaguar, I believe that Stark was involved in the project.
To admire more models, and be baffled by this company audacious naming conventions, check out the rest of their wonderful automotive line:

Wow. We know tomorrow's bestsellers. One more point for China, and source of income for its nukes. Support the Unions! Buy Chinese! Celebrate WalMart!

Hep! Sorry there! Dick again... The link was for another branch of these cars. Here's the right link:

Included, the "Merrie," the first Mercedes with Geo Metro interior, also the first car to feature carpet lining on the seats. Do you have to vacuum these now and then?
Geely's original designers also make another Mercedes, the "Uliou," this one with a Ford Focus interior. Nice!
And Geely's pickup, "Pickup." (No joke.)
And the "Beauty Leopard," which, according to its manufacturer, "looks wild and sexy."
But let Geely's poetic staff tell the story:
"We make every effort to create the fine product, and what you need to do is to feel it with your heart. The double-color luxury instrument panel, adjustable genuine leather power seat, high quality sound system, beautiful dance and wonderful music will accompany you while you are driving on the road."
They like epithets, we now know that.

LOL! You *absolutely* have to read the description!

Sneak preview: "Up-to-date arc instrument panel. Matches the seat color harmoniously, they promote each other. With power steering unit, you can enjoy free operation. Also power rear view mirror. Makes your drive more easy and safe."

Under the "wonderful download" section of Geely.com, I found...
(For some reason, AutoBlog doesn't let me paste all these links, (spam prevention?) - so you'll have to paste http://www.geely.com/english/aoto/ in front of all links.)

Nice choice of Cadillac font, it works out great on this car:

The car for adventure and surfer dudes:

(To give credit where it is due, this design actually looks original, i.e. of their own creation.)
Oops, larger picture reveals it is not carpet lining, but hotel curtain lining: (in ref. previous post)

...the end.

I think the haupu (surf's up!) is a Citroen or Renault from the early 90's. Original? Not this egg roll.
These cars are gonna be the laughing stock of Detroit. For all of our harping on GM's quality, lets be thankful it isnt THIS bad.

There is some guy in Arizona who is going to be importing these Geely cars, I'll try to find the website to link it and repost later. I think he's banned from selling cars to dealers in Texas because of a prior attempt to import Chinese cars a decade ago or so.
