Ford prepares for Jan. 23 elaboration of The Way Forward
Dubbed internally as the "way forward," Ford has said it will present its new restructuring plan penned by Mark Fields by January 23. The Detroit News is talking at least 30,000 workers, 10 plants and seven top executives on the block, but the company will kick off the plan with happier announcements on January 4th about marketing plans the company has to attract younger buyers to Ford and other plans for Lincoln and Mercury.
The board has yet to approve the program, so any details announced before the plan's rollout aren't set in
stone.
Meanwhile, the best
response
UAW VP Gerald Bantom could come up with was, "I hope they don't do anything."
