According to Reuters, UAW vice president Richard Shoemaker told UAW leadership yesterday "...under the current circumstances a strike appeared more likely than not."
Meanwhile, a report published by the UAW Monday asks "Can America afford the auto industry?" - suggesting that Delphi's proposed wage cuts will leave some workers and their families unable to afford the cost of living in U.S. cities like Flint, Michigan.

The titles of other UAW news briefs speak volumes about the potential for a strike:

  • Delphi workers protest executive pay

  • Delphi attacks workers and spoils execs
