Teamsters unionYou constantly read how transplants (foreign companies manufacturing in the U.S.) have kept their employees from forming unions, usually by matching union pay and incentives. Well, workers at Daehan Solutions, a Hyundai supplier in Lowndes County, Alabama, have a chance to change their minds in a vote this week.

The Teamsters union has filed charges with the National Labor Relations Board that Daehan's management has engaged in unfair labor practices with its employees. Daehan Solutions is a Korean company that manufactures interior sound insulation components. Its management, of course, denies the Teamsters allegations.

Watchers and analysts are saying the issue is too close to call, with steadily declining interest in union representation eroding the state's traditionally strong union presence.

Place your bets, folks.
