Ford pulls advertising after AFA objects
Just as fast as the American Family Association (AFA) stopped
boycotting Ford Motor Company for its support of gay groups and media (see
here), the manufacturer has announced it will be pulling
its advertisements from gay publications.
The news has spread across the press like a flame. Autoblog had reported the news earlier in the week. No specific information had been available at that time. Now the AFA is announcing its victory with its meeting with Ford while the company explains pulling the ads is part of its restructuring efforts to cut costs.
It'll be interesting to see the reaction of the other manufacturers, many of whom market to minority groups.

Good gawd, can't all you homos and bible thumping wackos just get along. It gets annoying to all of us regular folk who just go along in our daily lives having sex with women and aborting their babies.

I'd think a lot more of Ford if they flipped a middle finger towards the AFA publically instead of trying to walk the line between conservative morality and lifestyle choices.

haha, morality and traditions are both evil, We must destroy them. While forcing homosexuality and political correctness on all.

.
The homosexual lobby has their shorts in a knot because Ford is pulling its advertisements from homosexual publications in response to the successful American Family Association boycott. Though homosexuals regularly boycott businesses that don't cater to them, according to their warped logic it's not OK for opposing groups to do the same.

Gardiner - You are comparing two different things. The boycott of Ford was organized by a group of hateful bigots, afraid of someone who is different from them. I imagine most boycotts by homosexual organizations are in response to bigotry, hatred and fear aimed at them. The AFA boycott was an offensive measure while the most gay lead boycotts are a defensive measure. The "warped logic" comes into play when you equate the two.

I sent this tip some 8 or 9 hours ago via Forbes. No props to me and they got it from a different article.

Oh good grief, Ford certainly needs to do whatever is necessary to sell those junk mobiles. Its still a tough sell though, even to a flaming homo with a credit card and small line of credit. *Remember when the DSM classified homosexuality as a mental illness? Whether its classified or not, the illness still exists.

CarGuy, you are a moron.

They also used to classify masturbating as a mental illness, and CarGuy sounds like the sort of guy whose only remaining thrill in this world is rubbing one out 3 or 4 times a day.

Some of these ostentatiously pious types spend entirely too much time thinking about other people's sexual habits. How healthy is that?
This so-called American "Family" Association ought exercise their right to boycott the homo magazines and just leave Ford alone.

thank you FatCat for your logical response. I am so sick of bigots expecting me to be tolerant of their bigotry. Minority groups boycott when they are discriminated against. That is not the same as what the AFA was doing. No one at Ford was discriminating against Christians, which would have merited their boycott.
This argument could go back and forth for days. Bigots will never get it. Martin Luther King understood it, Gandhi understood it, Cesar Chavez understood it. AFA doesnt.

Remember in June when this story first broke and a bunch of reasonable, intelligent people commented on Autoblog? And the general consensus was that Ford should stand up for diversity and the AFA should, well, go to hell.
I just need to ask - where did all the WACKOS come from since then?

What do we have to do to get everybody else to stop advertising in publications I read? That'd be great!

Shame on Ford backing the Papal position on gays in the Church. Next, we'll need to root out the rapists and pedophiles from the Ford dealerships. Then the world will be "perfect."

Well, except for my next-door neighbor, who owns a super-butch Explorer, I don't know any self-respecting homo who'd buy a Ford anyway. Ford knows its target audience is a bunch of redneck yahoos and this move is right in line with that. If you can't hope to win new buyers with your boring products you might as well shore up your base.

Well, now that we're on to Ford, the Pope, and gays, it's been guessed that 20-50 percent of the priests have homosexual tendencies. While I think this is total horse hockey, I wonder if that means that 20-50 percent of the biships and cardinals are so inclined? Or 20-50 percent of popes? Or the 12 Apostles? (Let's see, I make that to be between 3 and 6 of them, including that young guy John; him we already had doubts about.) Yikes!
At this rate the AFA will soon have to start boycotting themselves!

Everybody seems to be so afraid of what other people--people they don't know--think.
That Ford would accommodate the religious wacko bigots shows how weak Ford is--better to buy a Chevy or something else anyway because Fords are crap.
Pandering to the bigots is a loser and Ford is a wimp outfit for falling for it.
