Zipcar, the company that provides self-service cars by the hour or day, announced Friday that it has added four new colleges to its list of university clients, bringing the nationwide total to 23.
Colleges are exploring Zipcar's car-sharing business as one way of dealing with limited parking, increased traffic congestion, and shortcomings in public transit. University of Massachusetts-Boston has gone a step further, using Zipcars to eliminate 10 cars from its motor pool.

Students, staff and faculty can access Zipcars 24/7 at designated parking areas, using their Zipcard to unlock the car. A phone and web-based reservation system makes the whole process painless.

Zipcar's killer feature for universities? Unlike traditional car rental companies, you don't have to be 25 years old to rent!
