Ferrari theme park in Abu Dhabi
Step right up, step right up, just two tickets to ride 500 horsies around the track. Sometimes when the automotive industry is down in the dumps and even the most optimistic fans hit their docs up for Zoloft, something comes along to remind us how fricking FUN cars are.
Ferrari, master of renting its name out to bulk up its process, is loaning its name to ALDAR Properties, a Middle
Eastern development company interested in developing a Ferrari theme park in Abu Dhabi, complete with a racetrack,
driving instruction, rides, and other attractions, as well as a dose of Ferrari history. Surrounding the park, which is
expected to open in 2008, will be hotels, shops, and everything else necessary to make the place the car world's
equivalent of Disney Land.

Thank God our extra oil dollars don't go to the US and state governments in the form of taxes to pay for roads and reduce oil dependence and instead finance things like this Ferrari playground for sheikhs.

Is it just me or is Ferrari pimping its name a little too much lately? I have seen Laptops, Computer screens, cheesy pens, and now a theme park?
I just feel like Ferrari isnt this "prestigious" company anymore but some sorta cheap corporate whore that will pimp its name for the right price. sad days indeed......

Fellow Americans:
While I have nothing against Abu Dhabi, when I read this story, I thought #&%^&@! Abu Dhabi, why can't Ferrari build a theme park here in the USA ?!? Don't we buy enough of their cars??? Besides, NASCAR can't please everybody.

Because we're a nation full of self-congratulatory hicks with upward pretensions that are infantile fantasies. We robotically fill up our gas guzzlers even when the oil boys triple the price of gas on us, and our only response is to whine a little bit about it and blame someone other than the people reaming us. The killer part is we ELECT these people into office and kiss their asses to boot.
In sum, we don't have the resources for such a thing. We mindlessly give ours away to people who laugh at us and egg on our redneck attitudes.

Mr. Willemssen:
While I would be the first to agree that the U.S. has its share of the culturally challenged, our country builds:
10 Ford GT
2) Ford Mustang
3) Corvette
4) SSC Ultimate Aero
5) Saleen S7
