Dodge Nitro will be built in Toledo

dodge nitro 250 pr photoIt wasn't much of a secret, but now it's official — the Dodge Nitro will be built alongside the Jeep Liberty at DaimlerChrysler's plant in Toledo.

The vehicle, the production version of which was announced last October, is pushing Chrysler to add a third line to the Liberty's shift to accommodate the extra production. It's the first vehicle other than a Jeep to be produced in Toledo since the Dodge Dakota's production there was halted in 1995.

The Chicago Auto Show will be home to the production launch of the vehicle.
