Further blurring the line between mainstream retailing and auto sales, Chrysler is selling its 2005 Crossfires alongside the garden furniture and bath towels at online "outlet store" Overstock.com, whose mantra is "name brands at clearance prices."

In this case, clearance prices mean markdowns of up to $8,926 from the MSRP on a Crossfire SRT-6 Roadster. Go to Overstock.com for your sale coupon, and take it to any Chrysler dealer. The discount can't be combined with Chrysler's current "Miles of Freedom" promotion - you have to pick one or the other.

Who knows, maybe we'll start seeing car dealerships at outlet shopping malls. Why not?
