It's crossover mania! By 2008, we should see the Cadillac SRX's little bro, the BRX, and the Saab 9-4X, Saab's plan B after GM sold its Fuji stake and scrapped the B9 Tribeca-derived 9-6X. For 2009, we may see a version of the vehicle for Buick come in below the Buick Enclave, which will replace the Rendezvous and Rainier. These are likely a few of the crossovers Bob Lutz continues to mention as part of GM's big future product plans.
The vehicles will sit atop a stretched Equinox/Vue/Torrent platform and will compete with the likes of BMW, Acura, Lexus, Infiniti and Mercedes at prices ranging from $35-45K. We'll likely see these both in FWD and AWD pushed by a 3.6L V6 geared by a six-speed automatic transmission.
