Five Axis creates Scion xA Speedster for SEMA
Five Axis has made headlines with its last two award-winning Scion project vehicles - the xB
DJ and tC Widebody. This year the company completed
its makeover of the Scion family with the xA Speedster. This Five Axis show car features three interlinked Xbox 360
game consoles playing Forza Motorsport on a pair of 19-inch Samsung monitors behind the seats and a giant screen on the
underside of the hood fed by a Casio XJ-560 projector. The xA Speedster also has the trade mark Five Axis
widebody treatment, as well as the complete removal of the roof and side glass and see-through body sides on the doors.
While some may argue that wild show cars like the xA Speedster are silly or even a waste of time, we can't but help but
be impressed by the work of Five Axis year in and year out.

um, so are the steering wheel and pedals wired as xbox controls? Hello Forza Motorsport!

I'm usually more impressed by performance modifications, but I suppose this car is definitely in the spirit of SEMA. Also, that underhood screen is sick. I just hope they have a protective coating so it'd survive if someone ever actually decided to drive the car.

I have a love/hate relationship with Five Axis. I love their work and the freedom the manufacturers give them, and I love how friendly they are. But, I hate that they have such a large 5-axis milling machine, a vacuum oven for impregnated fiber curing, and what seem to be the biggest budgets in the aftermarket. Basically, I'm jealous.
I've had a few correspondences with Troy Sumitomo and he has been nothing but helpful, even being so honest as to turn away business on account of them being so expensive (I was working on a body kit and looking around for manufacturers for a limited run). He's a standup guy, and he never fails to impress me with his work. And here's another shining example of what he and the whole team at Five Axis are capable of.

wow, no fewer than THREE xboxes
is it just me or is this phenominally stupid?
i'm not sure .5L of echo power generates enough power to effectively run an xbox while the car is in motion

Amazing!!! look at the list of "engine" mods!
Engine and exhaust
AEM cold air intake
DC Sports header
Five Axis custom engine cover
Five Axis custom exhaust system and finisher
This could be the slowest car with the word "speedster" as part of its name!!! A cold air intake and the "custom" engine cover!?! Well thats 100hp right there; AT THE WHEEL!
Only 19" rims?? come on man!? that is so 2000. I think we need to set up a rule to redefine the word "cool" every year by adding 1 inch to the dim of wheels for it to be cool. I never knew the concept of unsprung weight is a CIA top secret that no one knew.

Yep, you hit the nail on the head....it was silly and a waste of time. That thing is more laughable (it's a word, lol) than the xB. Guess you have to modify it that way since the car is so slow. Nice touch on the doors, if it were an actual production option, I would enjoy allowing everyone seeing me getting road head (sarcasm).

I got a chance to sit in it and play the game at SEMA. It was beyond fun. The gmaing system is intgrated into the damn electrical system. It was impressive as all hell... It may not be the fastest machine ever, but it sure was beuatiful.
Gotta give Scion credit for being so supportive of such radical modifications of their cars...
