As the Chinese auto market grows, so do its manufacturers. Reuters reports that China's biggest automaker said today it plans to double capacity by 2010 to 2 million vehicles a year.

This year, SAIC and its Korean subsidiary Ssangyong Motor will produce just over 1 million vehicles. SAIC is also GM's joint venture partner in Shanghai GM, China's market leader since earlier this year. According to Forbes magazine, September Shanghai GM sales were 31,719 units.
