CNN/Money posted an interesting thought piece today that describes one possible future for Detroit's troubled automakers. The bottom line? There is a scenario that sees happiness in Detroit (and Wall Street) by 2015.

Author Chris Isidore doesn't pretend to be predicting the future - he's just describing one possible sequence of events that could see a turnaround for the Big 3 inside ten years. There are a lot of "ifs" in this scenario, too. Like new flexible-manufacturing plants, concessions from the UAW for GM and Ford, lots of Big 3 gas/electric hybrids by 2010, a steady rise in U.S. car sales overall, and GM/Nissan and Ford/VW partnerships.

Hey, it could happen.

[Thanks, Kyle]
