Though I've yet to be blessed with a mini-me of my own, when that day does come my automotive preferences will surely shift from light, fast and agile to safe, big and comfortable. While I don't wait for that day with baited breath, it's nice to know there's a guide available that details what to look for in a new vehicle when shopping with kids in mind. Car seats are probably the number one consideration, and this guide from the NY Times recommends five factors to think about, as well as provides a list of 10 new vehicles that top the list in terms of car seat installation and a link to a Car Seat Compatibility Database. Here are the 10 vehicles in no particular order.
Chevrolet Equinox (shown with three car seats across in second row)
Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
Dodge Magnum
Ford Five Hundred
Ford Freestyle
Honda Accord
Honda Odyssey
Scion xB
Toyota Camry
Toyota Sienna
