The Avenger name, last seen in Dodge's lineup in 2000 when it was attached to the company's midsize coupe offering, will return to replace the Stratus name when Chrysler's revised midsize platform launches in 2007. The move is said to better align the model's name with Dodge's aggressive attitude. I think the key will be the vehicle's styling and performance, not its name (note that there's little chance of the Magnum or Charger ending up as the punch line of an SNL skit), but then again I'm not a marketing type.
