As sales in the large SUV segment begin to decline, one has to wonder whether or not the luxo-truck segment will follow them down the drain. Auto123 has an interesting article comparing the two biggest players in this tiny segment: the Lincoln Mark LT and Cadillac Escalade EXT. The article is an enjoyable read, if only for the authors acute observation of how different these trucks approach the same goal of unifying utility and luxury.
I almost snorted Coke out my nose when I read the author describing how the Lincoln LT was born:
"One steamy night after a few bottles of Shiraz and a movie, a Ford F-150 and a Lincoln LS retired to a candle lit room and flicked off the lights. Nature took its course and a few months later, they had a child, and called it Mark. Mark LT to be precise."
