Hybrid Technologies, which specializes in converting vehicles to lithium power, has announced it will retrofit DaimlerChrysler's Smart ForTwo with its system.

The company, which has already begun retrofitting Mini Coopers for the British diplomatic corps, will concentrate on fleet and government applications of the technology. Other vehicles converted to lithium power by the company include the Chrysler Crossfire and PT Cruiser. The company says it is "poised to enter the U.S. market" with the vehicle.

Thanks to Michael from Treehugger.com for the tip.
