In addition to the ultra-sexy XK coupe, Jaguar also showed their XJ Diesel. The new XJ is powered by a 2.7-liter diesel V6 that produces 204 hp and 321 lb-fit of torque. Jaguar went to a lot of effort to refine the diesel as much as possible. Seriously, who wants an noisy Jaguar? They also spent a lot of time developing an engine that would be less expensive to maintain, especially against Jaguar's German rivals. Diesel luxury sedans are more common than gasoline models in Europe, so this makes perfect sense for that market. With American consumers becoming more conscious of fuel economy, the XJ 2.7D may make sense here as well.
