New Pics of the Fisker Latigo CS & Tramonto
By now, you've probably already heard that Henrik Fisker (the guy that designed the current generation of gorgeous Aston Martins) is attempting to revive the art of coachbuilding by launching two models: Latigo CS (Based on BMW 6-Series) and Tramonto (Based on Mercedes SL55 AMG). Now just moments before their much anticipated Frankfurt debut, they've released new images of first two of the Fisker Coachcrafts. Pictured above is the close-up of Tramonto's front end, check out the rest of the pics after the jump and judge for yourself.
Thanks eMercedesBenz and Autoblog.nl for the tip.
And the Latigo CS:

Sleeked back Maserati from the front and sides, squeezed Acura TL from the rear. I'm not incredibly impressed. What the incentive to buy this over, say, a normal SL body?

Fisker is in a unique position as a designer, he has virtually no one to answer to, save for his customers. He has penned a beautiful car, but why not push it further? This is his big chance to show the world a thing or two about design. I am suprised at how conservative his final product became.

The Latigo looks like a cheap knock off of the Alpina version 8-series. I had so much confidence in you Henrik.
Well, at least it got rid of the BMW trunk.

Pretty dull for bespoke. It is definitely not outrageous like the Zonda, elegant like an Aston, retro like the Ford GT or pretty much at all interesting. I would buy the SL over these anyday.

I like them.. I think if he had the resources of a BMW (as he did at Aston), he could be pushing BMW past the Banglestick they're stuck with now. But, I thought New BMWs had to be the ugliest things around until I saw the new MBs flagships. Ugh.

A little busy in the headlight area on the f34 view, r34 a reminds me a little of some Alfas. Overall, not that distinctive or memorable. I'd stick with a 6 series, thank you....

Why is no one pointing out the obvious about Fisker? Everything he designs looks the same! The some Aston-Jag look regardless of who the car is actually for. What a crock. A nice shape, although the rears are pretty bad 80's BMW concept car, but the same shape again and again nonetheless.

I love that frontal view that is the main pic for this article.
But every other view, frankly, sucks.

Not bad at all. Certainly not uninspired, but I'm not particularly emotional about either.

Why do people always want the most extravigant looking car? Those two cars are very well designed. Clean, elegant, and most of all, well proportioned, which is saying a lot when you look at many of the cars out there today.
Gezzz... To some people, classical music all sounds the same.

latigo is the car for mens with cold blood...the"face" reminds me to Alfa Romeo or Honda Civic...on my opinion this car looks like a"silver" bullet :)

I like the designs just like I like the new Astons ect... I prefer the SL desing over this re-mock but if the price were significantly less Tramonto would be a lovely option. Latigo is handsdown much more attractive than the new 6er. For me they would both work as something different on the road for ividualists but I don't really care for the frontal views of either. Fisker should have added the old BMW 8 series streamline frontal hints to both cars and proposed them as the new 6 and 8 series. Tramanto side view with an 8 series front and the new BMW 6.0 liter V12 would have brought the love back to the house of Bavarian.

BMW should hire this guy right now and have him clean up their design mess...

Fisker left BMW after disagreeing with Bangle on the 'design direction' of the company.
Bangle wanted hideous cars with huge_asses; Fisker didn't.

Latigo - BMW with Alfa mixture - nice, looks like what a BMW 6 should have been. Classical shape but modern and elegant. Not bungled up like the real 6er.
The tremento - MB with a Cadillac - pimp your ride show car. Ugly wheels, way too much art deco element, too flashy not stylish. Suprised to see this from Fisker. The real AMG SL wins hands down.
As BMW making uglier cars by the day since 1999 with the X5 SUglyVan , the MB design getting better by the day. Just compare the newer cars and you see them. THe 5 is ugly the E is pretty. The new S-class is on the edge though nor do I like it nor do I hate it. Maybe in person it will look better but on paper it is pretty dissapointing. Not as much as the 7 series BMW but still, looks way too busy with the lines, the fender flare is ugly on a sedan, etc. But Fiskers design should have done a better knock off MB of the SL - period.

To me these designs are emotional and deliver the type of execution Henrick has shown over the years.
What seems to be missing in the conversation however, is that these products offer the well healed the equivalent of a tailor-made suit in an off-the-rack world. Production numbers will be so low as to offer the owner a certain exclusivity unknown to those who buy 6's and SL's in certain markets.

Damn...its a cross between the Old BMW 8 & the New BMW 6...man that 8 was a beauty! I hope BMW does release some kind of V12 coupe again...That 8 was wicked bad, even when you see a clean old one, u go, N-I-C-E!

The Latigo is the most beutiful car I have ever seen! I can't believe they have finally built the perfect car. BMW engineering, unrestrained Aston design from A_Z and best of breed tuning. What car on the planet really is this good?

Latigo is beautiful! The only wrapper in which I'd get a 6 series. Id take one in black, with a stick shift and underpinnings of an M6.
