A do-or-die pit stop call by owner Rob Dyson paid off for Lola drivers Butch Leitzinger and James Weaver. The late-race fuel-only stop saw Leitzinger hang on to the lead, only seconds in front of the Champion Audi of JJ Lehot and Marco Werner. Preserving his well-used Michelins for another 35 minutes, Leitzinger hung on to win by less than 4 seconds over Lehto.
After flashes of speed from the ACEMCO Saleen and the Panoz Esperantes in pre-race practice, the natural order was restored in GT1 and GT2, with victories going to the Corvette of Gavin and Beretta, and the Petersen/White Lightning Porsche of Long and Bergmeister, respectively.

Next up is the 10 hour Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, a race that should favor the bulletproof Audi R8s over the fast but fragile Lolas.
